"Peter Eastland’s effortless portrayal of the initially bestial, ultimately noble Sigismund keeps us rapt. We are jolted to attention from the start as Maria De Caldas, playing an imperious Rosaura, is thrown on to the dimly-lit stage and we find ourselves in a nightmarish worlds, reminiscent of a cult black and white film. Chained in a corner is a pent-up Sigismund... about to enter the glorious technicolour of the royal court as king of the day. Eastland is hideously despotic and hilarious, giggling with pleasure at his new-found power and outrageously dismissive etiquette. The Stage, July 2002

"Kerry Owen had the audience gripped from beginning to end... with laughter bellowing from the audience… mellowed silence at other points... faultless." Evening Gazette, July 2005

"Director Christiane Hille keeps the claustrophobic and tense atmosphere going throughout its two hour running time and the moments of humour never undermine the message her cast... all give outstanding performances. Their fantasies, as they attempt to keep their sanity are both touching and hilarious, Michael’s replay of Virginia Wade’s Wimbledon win is side-splittingly funny, while Edward’s sardonic one liner are uproarious." Diss Express, November 2003

"Director Christiane Hille could not have had a better cast  Oliver Burns gave a moving and sensitive performance, while Jamie BEamish tackled the outspoken, larger-than-life Edward with exuberance.  John Rose was superb as the Englishman desperate to keep a stiff upper lip.  Their fantasies were all brilliantly executed as the story moved to it's finale." Eastern Daily Express, April 2003

"Christiane Hille's faultless, naturalistic production... All bring a moving intensity to the characters they portray.  Edward's loquacity, Adam's vulnerability and Michael's exterior calm but inward turmoil are deftly captured." The Stage, April 2002

Time and Time Again, Eye Theatre, 2003

"Excellent.... experienced cast... within a few lines, the laughs begin to flow. The play not only features some very strong and comical characters but excels in playing them off against one another. For Ayckbourn fans this quality production is a must-see thanks to the superb and often hilarious performances from the entire cast." Diss Express, September 2003

At it's heart is a troika of excellent performances... The Production is a competent piece of story telling, clear, well spoken and getting to frips with the philosophising and eccentricities of its characters and finding the play's funny bone... the post-revolution setting adds poignancy as we reflect on the long-term fates." Uproar, 1998
